Jonas Adjetey has joined VfL Wolfsburg on a four-and-a-half-year deal, signing a contract until June 2030. The 22-year-old Ghanaian defender made the move from Swiss giants FC Basel for a reported transfer fee of around €10 million.
Adjetey, a strong and physical player with impressive tackling skills, has proven himself in the Swiss league and European competitions. Wolfsburg’s Sporting Director, Pirmin Schwegler, praised Adjetey’s qualities, saying, “Jonas is a very strong physical player, fast and good in tackles. He brings exactly the qualities we need for our defence”.
With seven caps for Ghana, Adjetey aims to make an immediate impact in the Bundesliga and potentially secure a spot in the Black Stars squad for the 2026 World Cup.
