The Dean of MDCEs in the Volta Region, Hon. Jerry Yaw Ameko, has announced that no Municipal or District Chief Executive (MDCE) in the region will contest in the 2028 parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). This decision aims to preserve party unity and support the government’s development agenda, following past instances where MDCEs challenging sitting MPs led to divisions within the party.
The 18 MDCEs in the region have collectively resolved to work hand-in-hand with their respective MPs to lift the region to greater heights, rather than contesting their seats. This move is seen as a significant step toward consolidating progress in the region and ensuring the NDC’s Resetting Agenda is implemented effectively.
