Donald Trump is threatening to sue Trevor Noah over a joke he made at the 2026 Grammys about Trump’s alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein. During the ceremony, Noah joked, “That is a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense because Epstein’s island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton”.
Trump responded on Truth Social, calling Noah’s joke “false and defamatory” and stating, “I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media”.
Trump also labeled the Grammys “the WORST, virtually unwatchable” and compared Noah unfavorably to Jimmy Kimmel, saying, “The host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards”.
