Tems, Nigeria’s Grammy-winning singer, has made history as the first African female artist to achieve seven entries on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her song “What You Need” debuted at number 93, bringing her total entries to seven and tying her with Burna Boy and South African group Seether as the African artists with the most Billboard Hot 100 entries.
Tems’ achievement is a testament to her growing global influence, following her historic debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2022 with “Wait For U,” featuring Future and Drake. She’s also the first African female artist to surpass one billion streams on Spotify.
