The STAR-Ghana Foundation has launched its new 5-year strategic plan, covering 2025-2029, with a focus on promoting sustainable growth and impact through active citizenship and local philanthropy. The plan prioritizes five key areas: civil society strengthening, right to services, democratic and inclusive governance, peace and security, and natural resource governance and climate action.
Key Objectives:
– Strengthen civil society and promote active citizenship
– Enhance democratic and inclusive governance
– Improve peace and security mechanisms
– Increase access to public services and environmental resilience
– Foster economic empowerment, especially for young people
The foundation’s Executive Director, Ibrahim-Tanko Amidu, emphasized the need for increased youth involvement in governance, citing Ghana’s demographic makeup and the importance of empowering young people for economic transformation.
The plan is built on the foundation’s unique 3CL approach, acting as a convener, catalyst, coordinator, learning facilitator, and resource mobilizer to tackle pressing national challenges.
