Seven PAOK fans were killed in a tragic bus crash in western Romania while traveling to France for their Europa League match against Olympique Lyonnais. The minibus collided head-on with a truck on the E70 highway, resulting in six fatalities at the scene and one more succumbing to injuries. Three other fans were seriously injured and hospitalized.
The accident occurred when the minibus attempted an overtaking maneuver and crossed into the opposite lane, leading to the fatal collision. PAOK president Ivan Savvidis described the incident as an “unspeakable tragedy,” and the Greek government has expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
UEFA has expressed solidarity with PAOK, and a pre-match tribute will be held at the Groupama Stadium in honor of the deceased fans.
