Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged chiefs and residents of Nkwanta South to maintain peace, emphasizing its crucial role in driving development in the area. He highlighted that recent conflicts have hindered progress and stressed that unity and harmony are essential for growth.
Key Development Projects:
– Eastern Corridor Road Rehabilitation: Funds have been earmarked for this project, which will link Nkwanta South to southern Ghana and neighboring countries, boosting economic opportunities.
– Nkwanta-Damanko and Nkwanta-Dambai Road Projects: These projects will significantly enhance local commerce and stimulate economic growth.
Asiedu Nketiah warned that without peace, these initiatives risk being derailed, undermining President John Mahama’s national development agenda. He also emphasized the importance of fighting corruption and urged Ghanaians to report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
The Oti Regional Minister, John Kwadwo Gyapong, praised the chiefs for maintaining calm and announced a six-week amnesty for surrendering unregistered firearms at the Oti Regional Police Headquarters.
