President John Dramani Mahama’s approval rating has soared to 68% according to a survey conducted by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) in December 2025. The survey, which polled over 1,000 people across all regions of Ghana, shows that 22% of respondents disapprove of his performance, while 10% expressed no opinion. Despite the high approval rating, Ghanaians are concerned about the rising cost of living, with 71% expressing strong concerns over food and consumer item prices.
The survey also identified unemployment (46%) and illegal mining (30%) as pressing national issues, while corruption (9%) and the general state of the economy (8%) were mentioned less frequently. The IEA noted that although key economic indicators appear to be improving, significant socioeconomic challenges remain.
