Karim Zito has resigned as the head coach of Asante Kotoko, effective immediately, following the club’s exit from the MTN FA Cup. The Porcupine Warriors were eliminated by Aduana FC in the round of 16 stage, losing 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw. Zito, who was appointed in July 2025, had guided Kotoko to success in the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup and other trophies, including the President’s Cup and Champion of Champions Cup.
During his eight-month tenure, Zito managed 37 competitive matches, winning 19, drawing 11, and losing 7, with a win percentage of 51%. He kept 19 clean sheets, scored 50 goals, and conceded 31. Asante Kotoko currently ranks fifth in the Ghana Premier League, eight points behind leaders Medeama SC.
