The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has inspected the Commonwealth Games venue and facilities in Glasgow as part of their preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Led by GOC President Richard Akpokavie, the team also included Secretary General Muniru Mohammed and Chef de Mission Ernest Danso.
Their inspection aimed to assess Ghana’s readiness to engage with the new vision for Commonwealth Sports and covered key logistical issues such as:
– Ticketing and Accommodation: Ensuring Ghana’s team has suitable arrangements
– Pre-Games Camping: Finalizing plans for team accommodations
– Visas and Accreditation: Facilitating smooth entry and participation
– Logistics: Coordinating transportation and equipment
The GOC delegation also met with the Glasgow 2026 Organising Committee and paid a courtesy call to Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland, Sabah Zita Benson, to discuss collaboration and promotion opportunities.
This inspection demonstrates Ghana’s commitment to excellence and preparation for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, with a focus on promoting the country and achieving medal success.
