The National Theatre of Ghana has received a significant boost to its production capabilities thanks to a generous donation of theatre equipment from a German Theatre Group. The equipment, which includes stage lighting systems, sound equipment, and other technical theatre tools, was unveiled at a ceremony held at the National Theatre recently.
This donation is part of an ongoing cultural exchange and collaboration project between Ghana and Germany, marking another milestone in the partnership between the National Theatre of Ghana and the German Theatre Group. The acting Executive Director of the National Theatre, Mr. Henry Herbert Malm, expressed appreciation to the German delegation for their generosity and vision, describing the donation as a timely boost to Ghana’s creative infrastructure.
The collaboration also featured a two-week technical training workshop for the Theatre’s production crew and a joint performance titled “MOMO”, which showcased the creative synergy between Ghanaian and German artists. The equipment is expected to significantly enhance the Theatre’s production capacity, providing practical support for training and live performances, and further solidifying Ghana’s position in the global theatre scene.
