Koku Anyidoho, an election observer for the Ayawaso East by-election, has commended the Electoral Commission (EC) as voting gets underway. He described the voter turnout as “quite low” at one polling centre, citing a centre with over 700 registered voters where only 65 people had voted 30 minutes into the exercise. Anyidoho also addressed concerns about vote buying, stating that distinguishing between inducement and generosity can be complex, and the EC would declare results based on valid votes cast.
