Catherine Ablema Afeku has been appointed as the Brand Ambassador for Africa by the World Tourism Forum Institute (WTFI). This appointment, effective July 29, 2025, recognizes her exceptional leadership and contributions to promoting tourism in Ghana and Africa. As ambassador, she’ll advocate for investment, innovation, and infrastructure development in Africa’s tourism sector, focusing on job creation, local community empowerment, and showcasing Africa as a competitive global destination.
Afeku’s appointment was announced at a ceremony in Accra, Ghana, attended by Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, and other dignitaries. WTFI President Bulut Bağcı praised Afeku’s diplomatic acumen and deep understanding of regional dynamics, stating she’s uniquely suited to lead this mission.
