Ghana’s Ambassador to the US, Victor Emmanuel Smith, has assured the Ghana Football Association (GFA) of the Embassy’s full support for the Black Stars’ 2026 World Cup campaign. The Ambassador met with GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku to discuss Ghana’s group placement and logistical preparations for the tournament, which will be hosted across the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Ghana is in Group L, alongside England, Croatia, and Panama, and will play matches in Boston, Philadelphia, and Toronto. The GFA is looking for a pre-World Cup camp for the team on hand, with a possible camp in the US to acclimatize and tap into the local market.
The GFA plans to launch new national team jerseys in Washington, D.C., and establish talent identification camps in the US to scout young Ghanaian players. Ambassador Smith emphasized the Embassy’s commitment to advancing Ghana’s interests and ensuring a smooth tournament experience for Ghanaians.
