Naser Toure Mahama, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, has passed away at the age of 60 after a short illness at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. He was serving his fourth term in Parliament and held key roles, including Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee.
A businessman and politician, Mahama was born on March 17, 1965, in Nima, Accra, and represented the Ayawaso East Constituency on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket. He won the 2024 general election with over 70% of the votes and was known for initiatives like “Operation Cement Your Lungu” to improve sanitation in underserved neighborhoods.
Mahama’s burial took place today, January 5, 2026, at the Madina Cemetery, following a Janazah prayer at the Ayawaso East Constituency Office. Tributes have poured in from colleagues and the community, praising his contributions to development and leadership.
