Dundee United has signed Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Agyei from Israeli Premier League side FC Ashdod on a permanent transfer. The 21-year-old, who can also play as a left-back, joined the Scottish Premiership club on transfer deadline day.
Agyei, a product of Dreams FC, has extensive experience in senior football, having made over 70 appearances in Ghana’s top flight and 27 appearances for Ashdod in Israel. Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin praised Agyei’s energy, composure, and willingness to improve, saying, “He’s comfortable receiving the ball under pressure and has shown he can operate in different roles”.
Agyei’s signing is seen as a boost to Dundee United’s midfield, with Goodwin confident he’ll adapt well to Scottish football and provide energy and athleticism. With the 2026 World Cup approaching, Agyei aims to impress in Scotland and catch the attention of Ghana’s Black Stars technical team.
