E also talk say him government dey serious when it come to justice, e say, “I don give our investigative bodies the go ahead to catch the people wey do this NSS scandal.” Dis order come after President Mahama, on February 12, don order make dem investigate how NSS dey run under di previous government, after dem find 81,885 ghost names for dem payroll. Ministry of Finance conduct headcount wey show say real number of National Service people be 98,145—far below the 180,030 names wey dem submit for allowance payments for 2024. As e be so, di government release GHC 226,019,224 million to clear di owed money for di real personnel.
Meanwhile, dem don step up dem effort to catch all di people wey dey involved for di wahala. Over di weekend, di National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) don arrest Yaw Danso, wey be accountant for NSS, for him alleged role for di scheme. Him detention follow di February 22, 2025, arrest of Kwaku Ohene Gyan, wey be di former Deputy Director of Operations for NSS. Gifty Oware-Mensah, di former Deputy Executive Director of NSS, still dey run as dem dey try to catch all di suspects wey link up to di payroll fraud.
