President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in members of the National African Peer Review Mechanism (NAPRM) Governing Council, reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to transparency and good governance. The council, chaired by Professor Akua Kuenyehia, will lead Ghana’s second-generation review next week at the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The APRM is a voluntary self-monitoring mechanism established in 2003 by the African Union to promote good governance, political stability, and sustainable development. Ghana was among the first countries to accede to the mechanism and undergo a comprehensive peer review in 2006.
The newly sworn-in council members include:
– Professor Akua Kuenyehia (Chair)
– Dr Joseph Whittal (Chairman of the National Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice)
– Mr Joseph Obeng
– Mr David Ofosu-Dorte
– Mrs Cornelia Amoah
