Pete Edochie, the renowned Nollywood actor, has denied rumors of his death, stating “I’m alive and will die when my maker calls me home”. This isn’t the first time he’s had to address such rumors, having been “killed” about seven times before. The 78-year-old actor, popularly known as Ebubedike, expressed frustration over the recurring hoaxes, citing instances where false reports claimed he died abroad or in accidents.
Pete Edochie turned 79 on March 7 and attributes his vitality to his family’s longevity, with his father living up to 96 years old. He also shared wisdom from Nigeria’s late nationalist leader, Nnamdi Azikiwe, saying those who wish death on others often don’t outlive their targets.
The rumors started after an X page alleged Pete Edochie had passed away after being rushed to the hospital, with claims his son Uche Edochie confirmed it on Instagram. However, his son Leo Edochie debunked the rumors, stating his father is “alive, healthy, and strong”.
