Ghana’s creative industry is thriving, and women are at the forefront, shaping culture and building brands. From music and film to fashion and digital content, women are making their mark. Some notable women include chart-topping musicians, award-winning actresses, film directors, media executives, DJs, models, and creative entrepreneurs.
These women are breaking boundaries with innovative sounds, bold styles, and impactful stories. They’re commanding screens, directing powerful narratives, and managing agencies that host major national events. They’re also redefining fashion and beauty on global runways, steering respected media brands, and creating platforms that highlight African creativity.
Organizations like Women in Creativity Africa (WICA) are supporting these efforts, offering scholarships, mentorship programs, and training to empower women in the creative industry. WICA has already provided 50 annual scholarships for young women to develop their creative talents.
Some notable initiatives include:
– Make Fashion Inclusive Project: A German Development Corporation project providing vocational training in fashion and creative skills to persons with disabilities.
– WICA Scholarships: 50 annual scholarships for young women to develop their creative talents at TAF College.
