Anthony Joshua has paid an emotional tribute to his two close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, who were killed in a car crash in Nigeria on December 29, 2025. Joshua, who was also in the vehicle, sustained minor injuries and has been sharing his grief on social media.
In a heartfelt video message, Joshua described Ghami and Ayodele as his “brothers” and “left and right,” emphasizing their importance in his life. He expressed gratitude for the support he’s received and vowed to help their families fulfill their dreams.
“It’s tough. It’s really tough. I’m not going to sit here and show all of my emotions,” Joshua said, fighting back tears. “One day my time will come and I’m not scared either at all. It’s actually comforting knowing I got two brothers on the other side”.
Ghami was Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach, while Ayodele was his personal trainer. Both men were part of Joshua’s team and were with him in Nigeria for the holidays.
The driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and is currently on bail.
