Bimbo Ademoye is breathing a sigh of relief after a YouTube copyright dispute involving her film “Where Love Lives” was resolved in her favor. The issue started when someone using the fake name Emmanuel Davies falsely claimed ownership of a song featured in the film, leading to a copyright strike on her YouTube channel and demonetization of the video.
Despite owning the track with the original artist’s consent, the song was allegedly uploaded to digital platforms like Spotify under Davies’ name, diverting revenue from Ademoye’s film. She had threatened legal action and demanded the claim’s removal, describing the experience as emotionally draining and tearful.
Ademoye expressed gratitude to her mother, friends, creative team, and “cyber family” (her online supporters) for standing by her and helping report the infringing content. Her film, starring Uzor Arukwe, Chioma Nwosu, and Osas Ighodaro, had millions of views before the issue was resolved.
