Morocco’s national football team, the Atlas Lions, were honored at a royal reception by Prince Moulay Rachid at the Royal Guests Palace in Rabat after reaching the AFCON 2025 final. The team was welcomed by the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, and coach Walid Regragui, before posing for a commemorative photo.
King Mohammed VI sent a congratulatory message, praising the team’s perseverance, dedication, and team spirit, which “demonstrated that these values are the keys to achieving excellence”. The King also highlighted the team’s performance as a reflection of Morocco’s strategic vision to invest in human capital and modernize infrastructure, showcasing the country’s readiness to host the 2030 World Cup.
