Empress Gifty and Nana Agradaa have settled their defamation case out of court, with Agradaa agreeing to pay GH¢100,000 to Empress Gifty. This amount covers legal fees and related expenses. As part of the settlement, Agradaa has also issued a public apology and retracted the defamatory statements made against Empress Gifty.
The settlement, adopted as a Consent Judgment by the Tema Land Court and Tema Main Court, brings an end to the two lawsuits filed by Empress Gifty against Agradaa in May and June 2025. Empress Gifty had initially sought GH¢40 million in damages for alleged slander and libel.
Agradaa’s lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, confirmed that all agreed conditions have been fulfilled, including the payment and public apology. With the court’s adoption of the settlement, Empress Gifty has withdrawn all claims arising from the suits.
