The Dombo family has rallied behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, expressing their full support for his candidacy in the upcoming NPP primaries. During his visit to the Upper West Region, Dr. Bawumia paid a heartfelt tribute to the late iconic politician, S.D. Dombo, at his family home in Duori.
The Chief of Duori, Naa Dombo III, described Dr. Bawumia as the “2nd Dombo,” praising his vision, integrity, and resilience. The family had previously enskinned Dr. Bawumia with the chieftaincy title “Naa Lewa,” meaning “the chief has come back,” in recognition of his shared values with their late father.
Dr. Bawumia was accompanied by senior NPP figures, including former Interior Minister Ambrose Dery and former Upper West Regional Minister Hafiz Bin Salih, during his visit. The Dombo family has urged NPP delegates to prioritize integrity, intellect, and purpose over financial inducements, emphasizing that Dr. Bawumia’s leadership is crucial for Ghana’s progress.
The family’s endorsement is seen as a significant boost to Dr. Bawumia’s campaign, highlighting his commitment to Ghana’s development and his connection to the region.
