Dave Bishop, an American-Ghanaian businessman, has thrown his hat into the ring for the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) Executive Board election, scheduled for December 27, 2025. Bishop, CEO of Bishop Boxing Promotions, aims to bring his 47 years of experience in entertainment and sports promotion to revitalize Ghanaian amateur boxing.
Key Commitments:
– Youth and Community: Establish boxing hubs, mentorship, scholarships, and nationwide talent identification with safe sport education.
– Promoter and Sport Growth: Organize local/regional cards, ensure fair matchmaking, transparent rankings, and coach/referee development.
– Philanthropy and Welfare: Support fighters’ welfare fund, NGO/corporate partnerships, and emergency relief grants.
– Community Governance: Renovate gyms, build multi-use centers, boost local events and jobs, ensure transparent budgets, inclusive representation, and annual audits.
The GBF election will also determine the President, two Vice-Presidents, a Treasurer, and two executives to run the federation until December 2029.
