Award-winning Nigerian Afrobeats queen, Tiwa Savage, has set social media buzzing after revealing that she has been celibate for the past three years.
The 44-year-old superstar made the startling confession during an interview on The Breakfast Club, explaining that her decision was not a personal vow but a result of being single since her last relationship ended.
“I have gone three years without sex. It is not something I really like or crazy about. I have to be in love to have the urge for sex. I have to be with someone for me to even think about it,” she told the hosts.
Tiwa, who is often hailed as one of Africa’s most stylish and confident female performers, further surprised fans when she admitted that she doesn’t even use sex toys.
“I don’t even have sex toys. Maybe, I need to. Maybe, people need to get me toys for my Christmas presents,” she joked, leaving the studio in laughter.
Beyond her celibacy revelation, the Wanted hitmaker also used the platform to reflect on a painful chapter in her love life. She recounted being in a toxic secret relationship with a well-known Nigerian public figure who cheated on her repeatedly.
“It was disrespectful. He took advantage of the fact that it was a secret relationship. I tolerated it for a while, but eventually, I had to walk away,” she shared.
